Sinter-hardening is a process that, after sintering, includes a phase of hardening during which the material is cooled with a higher speed than the “critical” levels, thus obtaining materials with better mechanical characteristics and resistance.
Some Fe-C metal powders are added to other metals (Cu-Mo-Ni-Cr) to obtain sintered elements already hardened, if they are cooled with high speed. The final hardness depends both on the speed of cooling and the composition of the powder.
Sabe Forni, specialized in the production of plants with industrial furnaces, produces sinter-hardening furnaces specifically designed to obtain the best results, and they are equipped with a rapid cooling zone, after the sintering zone, in order to obtain an efficient hardening effect.
